In Short

15+ years of enterprise software development experience has given me opportunities to write all types of projects, from small to large, from commercial to open source, from e-commerce to social networks. Over the last 10 years I've been writing with variety of languages pro-dominantly ColdFusion and C# for back-end structures (although doing VB and Java work for some projects). For the front end structures I have moved from working on having the server render pages to having more of the front end just take in data and render it. I've become an integral part of ColdFusion community while helping out on open source projects and developer meet-ups. I have helped to lead a small team to accomplish many goals; growing customer base, converting from ColdFusion to .NET.

I currently work at ImageTrend, with the title of Software Developer 4. There are many iterations of projects where each step will increase in quality. To learn more about my endeavors check out my github account, and activity on stack overflow. Hands-on developer with 14+ years of software development experience always seeking a great opportunity to design/lead/develop/launch cool stuff.

Expertise

Philosophy

I am a balanced minimalist at the core, enjoying simplicity, and clarity above all else. However, DRY could get a bit too DRY sometimes. DSL could get a bit too obscure and hard to maintain. I always strive to strike the right balance. I write clean code, and re-factoring is a part of my daily routine. Over the years I realized that a simple architecture is more valuable and harder to produce than a complex one.

Background

I have had always had a knack for picking up new ideas and trying to mash them together with already running concepts so they will transform into ideas that are much grander. I have been having dreams of late, of programming primarily in .NET as backened services with javascript on the front end consuming those services and see magical things occur. I love the conecept of progressive web apps, it's the goal we should have been striving towards for a while.

Education

For 3 years I studied at Alexandria Technical College (Alexandria) pursuing a degree in Computer Programming alongside a Web Development E-Commerce degree. The courses in Algorithms, Data Structures, Discrete Math, and other fundamental computing-related subjects have taught me a lot.
